BEFORE YOU CALL

(If you do not feel comfortable performing these checks, please give us a call.)

If your system will not turn on or is blowing warm air, here are some minor things you can try to fix your air conditioning  before calling:

  • Check the breaker at your electric panel to see if it is tripped.  Sometimes the breaker can trip so make sure to flip the breaker off and then flip it back to the on position.  There may be approximately a 5-10 minute delay when turning the system back on.

  • Check your thermostat settings, make sure your thermostat is getting power.  Put in new batteries making sure they are facing the correct direction.

  • Set the thermostat on "cool" and lower the temperature a few degrees to see if the system will come on.  Again, there may be a 5-10 minute delay.

  • Check your air filter, a dirty air filter can cause a range of problems, such as the system blowing warm air, a small amount of air coming through the registers and/or the system will not turn on.  Also, make sure your filter fits properly.
